Heart disease continues to be the main cause of death in developed countries, so it is very important for people to remember its symptoms. However, sometimes these symptoms are not severe; they may also be symptoms of a variety of other ailments.
1. Excessive fatigue
This is not about lack of sleep, but about real unexplained fatigue. This is similar to the prolonged flu, which is not cured easily. You should not think that your health will improve by itself, be sure to visit the doctor.
2. Swelling of the feet
Feet can swell for a variety of reasons, including pregnancy, varicose veins and long air travel. They may also be due to heart failure – a chronic condition in which the heart does not pump blood very effectively.
3. Pain while walking
If you feel pain in the calf and thigh muscles when walking, which disappears when you have a rest, it is not necessarily due to aging or lack of exercise. Maybe this pain is a sign of peripheral arterial disease – accumulation of fatty deposits in the arteries of the legs, which increases the risk of heart disease.
4. Dizziness
Again, dizziness may be a symptom of a huge number of ailments unrelated to the heart. But it also occurs as a consequence of artery blockade, which increases blood pressure.
5. Shortness of breath
If you cannot catch your breath, even with moderate exercise, this may be due to asthma, anemia, infections, or problems with the heart valve, which does not deliver enough blood. In any case, it is the doctor who should voice the diagnosis.
6. Depression
One of the most common mental disorders in the world, depression, may not be a classic sign of heart disease. However, mental health depends on the physical health, and numerous studies have shown that victims of depression are more common to suffer from heart problems.
7. Loud heartbeat
If you can clearly hear your heart pounding in the silence, it may be a sign of low blood pressure, anemia, dehydration and low blood sugar levels. Let the true cause be determined by the doctor.
8. Sweating, anxiety and nausea at the same time
If you experience anxiety, sweating and nausea, it is not only the classic symptom of a panic attack, but also a sign of a heart attack. If these symptoms are followed by dyspnea without any exercise, excessive fatigue, pain in the chest, neck, arms or back, call an ambulance immediately. Every minute here is important for survival.
9. Migraine
Sometimes headache is just a headache. But in some cases, migraine is an indication that a person develops heart problems. Scientists attribute this to the fact that headaches and heart disease can be caused by an imbalance of the autonomic nervous system.
