Berries Prevent Brain & Memory Problems

Strawberries and blueberries can protect the brain from age-related changes.

Blueberries and strawberries contain a lot of polyphenols, which assist the brain in performing the most important functions and building the defense against blood intoxication with the help of toxic proteins.

Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases, which appear in senior age, can be treated with the help of polyphenols. The scientists from the University of Maryland conducted experiments on the brains of mice and rats and found that if the rodents were eating blueberries, their brain matter was not affected by toxins.

After a two-month period of eating useful berries, the rats underwent accelerated aging with the help of radiation. After the first series of radiation exposure, the rats were divided into two groups: the first one was tested in a month, while still being fed with berries; the second group was examined at the intervals of 36 hours. At the end of the one-month period, it was concluded that the rats had developed a powerful protective function against radiation. The scientists suggested that phytonutrients had helped them.

Suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or Parkinson’s disease, the body is usually clogged with a lot of toxic proteins. Eating a lot of berries at this time, one can rapidly develop autophagy, which prevents the accumulation of toxins. The experiments with berry diets, conducted earlier, also showed their usefulness. The women, who permanently included strawberries in their diet, had almost no mental disorders in their elderly age, and the logic of thought processes remained unaffected till the end of life.
