The rapid spread of the coronavirus pandemic requires an adequate medical response. First of all, scientists are striving to improve the virus diagnostic system, which allows isolating the patient in a timely manner and preventing the further spread of the disease. The NanoBio laboratory at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research of Singapore has created the fastest coronavirus test, which can detect the disease in 5-10 minutes.
The test is undergoing mandatory certification with regulatory authorities, which will take about 30 days, and then the test systems will be distributed to medical institutions.
To conduct an express test, a sample of human secretions is required. Then the sample is placed in a compact device, in which the testing process takes place. The tests conducted in the hospitals of Singapore have showed high accuracy and sensitivity of the test system. Previously, experts suggested that the coronavirus tests for home use will not be created in the near future.
