Everyday Habits That Harm Your Health

We are used to doing many things automatically. We wake up and go to work, doing usual things without even thinking about what we do and how we do it. However, there are some things, which are still worth paying attention to. Because all of these are trivial and everyday things, they’ve become habitual, and we don’t notice how they do harm to our bodies every day. Let’s see what mistakes we make daily, even without realizing them.

1. Shallow breathing

“Breathe deeper,” — this advice is relevant not only in stressful situations. In many Eastern countries people are taught different breathing techniques since childhood. However, since we know little about them, most of us are accustomed to breathing shallowly. We breathe with our chest, while it is much more useful and correct to breathe with your belly or diaphragm. Try and learn to make deep and slow breaths during which your chest does not rise, but the abdomen and the lower ribs expand. Deep breathing can relieve stress, lower the blood pressure and improve endurance.

2. Too frequent workouts

Scientists have proved that daily workouts can wear your body out. Bodybuilders know that muscles need rest for growth. The best option is to work out 4 times a week. This, of course, does not apply to morning gymnastics or yoga. You can do it daily.

3. Wrong shoes

Your feet are not the only body part that suffers from uncomfortable shoes. You can feel pain in the back, neck and lower back, if you don’t wear orthopedic shoes for a long time.

4. Too frequent showers

If you wash your hair too often, it can become even greasier, as a defense reaction. In addition, taking a shower too frequently can dry up the skin. Our body is constantly inhabited by bacteria. There are useful bacteria among them, which create a protective layer to prevent infections. Therefore, you should not bathe too frequently, especially using a shower gel.

5. The wrong soap

Do not use antibacterial soap because, along with pathogenic bacteria, it kills the “good” ones as well, thereby destroying the local immune system and increasing the risk of infections. In addition, the wrong soap can cause hormonal imbalance.

6. Not cleaning the washing machine

Your freshly laundered things may not be as clean as you think. The drum of your washing machine can contain feces, the E. Coli bacterium, mold and fungus. So don’t forget to clean your washing machine regularly inside.

7. Sleeping too little or too much

Lack of sleep slows down our brains. Less than 7-9 hours of sleep each night will lead to problems with memory, loss of creativity, emotional instability and immunity impairment. Remember that it is impossible to catch up on sleep, as well as “bank-sleep”. So take care of quality rest now. Surprisingly, too much sleep is as harmful as sleep deprivation.

8. Sitting

No, it’s not just about the wrong position (it goes without saying). Prolonged sitting during the day leads to serious health problems. Make sure you take breaks to exercise. Even walking to the house next door is better than nothing.

9. Giving up important food components

If you give up some basic food components, for example, completely refusing fats or carbohydrates, it may have a negative impact on your health. Your body needs all of these nutrients. Of course, being able to replace the carbohydrates from the chocolate bars with useful carbohydrates from cereals is a complicated thing. However, you can learn this, as well.

If you are making at least one of these mistakes, you should get rid of your harmful habit. Share this article with your friends and acquaintances so they can learn, which mistakes are harmful to their health.
