Professor Tolle (Germany) came up with a way to overcome chronic pain using light therapy.
The trial involved about 100 volunteers. The participants of the experience will undergo a course of light therapy in the Technical University of Munich hospital for one and a half years. Sessions are held in a special room where level of light reaches 3000-4000 lux (6-8 times higher than in an ordinary room with fluorescent lamps). In addition, indoor light spectrum was changed there – more blue was added, and the ceiling was painted so that it imitates clear sky.
According to Tolle, it is too early for the results, but so far chronic patients report that light therapy improves their condition.
Bright light has long been used to treat depression, as well as to deal with sleep disorders .
