The scientists from Australia made a strong statement that they have created a revolutionary cancer remedy.
According to them, the drug works against all types of cancer. The scientists have tried about 25,000 options of the drug, but only one proved to be effective.
For over 30 years, the Australian scientists had been searching for a cure, and their long-term work finally is a success. This medication affects the walls of a cancer cell. If the cell wall collapses from the inside, it is an effective way to destroy cancer cells. The protein that was found is one of the building blocks of this inner structure.
However, the drug has to go through human clinical trials before it is proven effective. Presumably it will take about 20 years.
The Australian scientists say that testing of the drug in humans is planned for 2014.
